Kozhikode, Apr 27 : The second Abhinaya Summer Theatre Festival (Travelling) will begin with curtains going up for Shakespeare's renowed play "Macbeth" here tomorrow.

Talking to newspersons here today, Thiruvanthapuram-based Abhinaya Theatre Research Centre Artistic Director M G Jyotish said "Cibscuebtuiys Bhagavadajjukam," a satirical play based on a 2,000-year-old Sanskrit text, "The Lesson," a cocktail of violence-psychological and physical comedy by Eugene Ionesco and widely acclaimed "Sagarakayaka" an adaptation of Ibsen's "The Lady from the Sea," were some of the other attractions this season.

After the culmination of the programme here, the festival would be staged in Kattappana from May 5 to 7, Palakkad May 9 to 11, Muvattupuzha May 16 to May 18, Ernakulam May 21 to May 23, Kottayam May 27 to May 29, Kollam June 1 to 3 and Thiruvanthapuram June 8 and 9, he said.

Muthoot Pappachhan Group, Taj Hotels and Palace and the State Bank of Travancore were the sponsors of the event by Abhinaya, comprising 40 artists, in eight districts, he added.
