Kerala Planning Board reconstituted

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 10 :The Planning Board in Kerala has been re-constituted with former Union Cabinet Secretary K M Chandrasekharan as its Vice Chairman.

Briefing newspersons on the decisions taken at the meeting Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who is also the Chairman of the Board, said Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Managing Director Dr E Sreedharan, former Technopark CEO C Vijayaraghavan and former CII Secretary-General Tarun Das are the non-official members of the Board.

A draft report of the Approach Plan for the 12th Plan would be completed in the first week of September for which a priority discussion was held, he said.

'Emerging Kerala-2012,' a Global Investors Meet, would be held in Ernakulam for which KSIDC has been appointed as the nodal agency.

The Regional Centre of IGNOU has been alloted one hectare of land at Muttathara here. About 2.22 hectres of land was alloted to a Central School at Chennerkara village in Pathanamthitta district.

An amount of Rs six crore has been yearmarked for the Khadi Board as Festival Rebate.

Farmers having one hectre of land would be given a monthly pension of Rs 300 from August 17. It also given sanction for the recommendation of the 13th Finace Committee report.

Following a policy decision to fix March 31 as the common retirement date earlier last year, the government decided to report all the supernumery posts due to the retirement till March 31, 2012, to the PSC.
